Do you know your pediatric compression depth?

An optimal pediatric resuscitation solution includes CPR feedback, an idle timer, and a pediatric-specific AED algorithm — to accurately assess the rhythm and advise whether a shock is indicated. And when you consider the majority of pediatric arrests are due to respiratory failure,1 the importance of high-quality CPR cannot be minimized.

The AHA defines high-quality pediatric CPR as:

  • Depth of approximately 1.5 inches for infants and approximately 2 inches for children
  • Rate of 100–120 compressions per minute
  • Full recoil of the chest with every compression
  • Minimal interruptions in compressions
  • Avoidance of excessive ventilation
